About Me
Hello — I’m Julie Afighom, LMFT, and I’m so glad you’re here.
Therapy for me is more than a profession — it’s a space of invitation: to be known, to be challenged, and to heal in community.
My Story
I’ve walked my own path with identity, culture, belonging, and grief — so I understand what it’s like to feel pulled between worlds, to carry wounds that “don’t make sense,” or to doubt whether you deserve peace. My background in marriage and family therapy has given me tools; my own journey has given me humility, curiosity, and compassion.
I’ve worked with children, teens, adults, couples, and families — always learning. I believe that no matter where we begin, everyone has threads of strength, longing, and possibility waiting to be reclaimed.
What I Bring
• Empathy + Realness: I bring my full self — genuine, imperfect, present — not just my credentials.
• Cultural Awareness: As someone who navigates multiple worlds, I hold space for your story: your culture, your identity, your “in-between” spaces.
• Commitment to Growth: I don’t want us to just “survive” the hard parts. I want us to find meaning, resilience, and a life you can lean into.
I believe in offering safety without stagnation — compassion without avoidance — and a relationship that trusts your pace and your power.
